Sovereign Interfaces

Some examples of the many interfaces that are used with the Sovereign application are listed below.

1. Sovereign has a large number of Application Programming Interface's (API's) available for internal and external use. Because of the modular way in which the Sovereign package has been written additional API's are generally not difficult to implement. API's provide

  • A coherent interface consisting of several classes or several sets of related functions or procedures.
  • A single entry point such as a method, function or procedure

2.  Our Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) provides us with great flexibility for interfacing to 3rd party systems. The purpose of SOA is to open functionality up to the outside world in a controlled manner that is system and vendor independent.

Typically XML transferred via HTTP is used to provide the independence. The different functions made available are called Services. The number of services provided as part of the Sovereign software is growing rapidly.

3.  ATM / EFTPOS via local switch interface

4.  SovBankInt. Sovereign has interfaces both to and from other banking systems.   What these interfaces achieve is essentially to move monies between a customers account(s) in Sovereign and the same customers account(s) in an external banking system.   This can be fully electronic. Fully electronic means that the data will be transferred from Sovereign to a connected network computer from where it will be transferred to the bank via the public switched telephone network system into the banks own computer system.

At no stage during fully electronic transfer will the transaction data be physically moved by a user or courier via diskette or any other external means from one computer to another. It is possible to interface to more than one bank from the same PC.

5.  PPSR stands for personnel security register. Sovereign has an online interface to the PPSR system. See http://www.ppsr.govt.nz.

6.  Glass's and Redbook for car valuations. See Glasscar and/or RedBook

7.  General Ledger interface to packages such as Finance One. This is based on client requirements.

8.  The direct entry system in Australia.

9.  Cheque book, card and statement production houses.

10.  Customer CRM systems

11.  The SWIFT IVR telephone banking. See Swift

12.  Veda Advantage (formerly BayCorp) - B2Bay and credit scoring
