Helen Hatchard

Chief Executive

Helen has over 20 years’ experience with major banks and the wider finance industry in various leadership roles across retail, private and business banking both within the commercial sector and the Mutuals sector. Helen is described as a straight forward visionary leader who has strategy development and execution strengths. She builds resilient key holder relationships through influencing internally and externally.

Tim Hurring

Chief Technical Officer

Tim has been with Finzsoft since 1993 which followed extensive experience gained across the computer industry in New Zealand and the UK. His deep knowledge of the Sovereign software and his adherence to strong design principles makes him an integral part of the Finzsoft team. He is responsible for ensuring we stay abreast of emerging technologies - enabling Sovereign to remain current and competitive.

Jason Wang

Principal Architect

Jason is a hands-on architect and software engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the JVM stack, specialising in secure, enterprise-grade solutions for the banking and fintech sectors. He holds a Master’s in Software Security from the University of Auckland and is passionate about open source, AI, and robotics. Jason also supports the tech community through events like Fintech Auckland and AJUG.

Tony Greene

Independent Chair

As Independent Chair of Finzsoft Solutions Limited, Tony supports the Board and Management in achieving strategic goals. With extensive leadership, governance, and financial expertise, he previously served as Assistant GM at Credit Union Hamilton (now First Credit Union) before moving to Sydney in 2000 as CFO and Group Company Secretary for a technology firm serving Australia’s credit union sector. Over 24 years, he helped financial institutions adopt innovative technology solutions, driving growth and success.

Simon Scott

Director

Simon is the Chief Executive Officer of First Credit Union, being appointed to that position in 2018. Prior to that Simon served on the First board from 2006, being Chair from 2009 to November 2017. Simon has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waikato. He practiced as a barrister and solicitor from 1995 until 2018. From 1999 Simon practiced primarily in the employment jurisdiction and was a Partner at the Hamilton firm Bogers Scott Shortland.

Lane Todd

Director

Lane is a Superintendent with New Zealand Police and is the Metro Commander for Canterbury District. He has served in the New Zealand Police since 1990. Lane’s governance career includes currently being a member of the Canterbury District Governance Group, which has a strong governance role over the Policing in Canterbury. Lane is the current Chair of the Police Credit Union, where he has been a director since 2016.
